What they're saying…
OAPSA has been an integral part of my career from the moment I moved into Special Education Administration. The resources available to its members allows for continued support and professional growth regardless of where we are currently in our career.
-Kim LeGault, State Support Team Region 11
I've been a member of OAPSA for 20 years, and the amount of professional development, legal updates and ODEW communication is unmatched. I have developed a strong network of colleagues that I can call upon any time to help problem solve issues that only people in our positions understand. Having OAPSA as a resource is invaluable.
-Paula Jones, Brooklyn City Schools
OAPSA is a fantastic way to work with great folks and to continue to grow and develop in how we help support our students and staff. OAPSA has given me the opportunity to make outstanding connections with colleagues by attending conferences, participating in the mentor program, and attending professional development sessions. The connections I have made through OAPSA are invaluable, these are people I lean-on on a regular basis. Having a reliable network of resources is something that I really appreciate and I was able to develop that through my membership and participation with OAPSA.
-Jesse Kohls, Loveland City Schools
Being a member of OAPSA over the years has been both personally and professionally rewarding. It has connected me with a passionate network of educators, provided ongoing support, and continually renewed my commitment to advocating for students with special needs.
-Michelle Rentsch, State Support Team Region 9
Becoming a member of OAPSA has been a game-changer for me as a Special Education Administrator. The mentorship program was especially impactful during my first two years—it provided monthly meet-ups, consistent guidance, and, most importantly, a trusted network of colleagues where I could be vulnerable, ask questions, and receive meaningful support. The sense of community is real, and it's empowering. The conferences are another incredible asset—they go beyond legal updates to include critical information from the state office and offer insight into how other districts across Ohio are approaching challenges and innovation. OAPSA has truly been instrumental in my growth and confidence as a leader in pupil services.
-Victor Torres III, Aurora Schools
